Royal Revels: Byo Arts Festival Celebrates Kingship Through Art (International Edition)
The Bulawayo Arts Festival (BAF), which commenced on Friday, May 30, is set to run through June 7, highlighting the dynamic artistic landscape and rich cultural legacy of the city. This year's festival theme, "Honoring Monarchy via Art," recognizes Bulawayo’s deep-rooted customs, historical legacy, and communal ethos. The festival commenced on May 30th with the Comedy Meets Poetry performance at Stanley Hall in Makokoba, which holds historical significance as Bulawayo's traditional community center. The event, led by acclaimed comic Ntando Van Moyo, combined elements of comedy and poetry through presentations by performers including Sgoqa the Poet, Sonkomose, Thaluso Da Poet General Lesley, Nkosi King, D'Jun, and Diana Nomsa.
