"Devil Wears Prada" Sequel Set to Slay Theatres on This Date – International Edition

Following the media coverage claiming that ' The Devil Wears Prada Once news broke online that a sequel was being developed, fans of the movie have been anxiously awaiting further information, particularly regarding the film’s release date.

Variety reports that Disney has officially announced May 1, 2026, as the release date for its sequel.

According to the source, even though it was mentioned earlier this past year about the seasoned actress Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt The actors set to return for the movie have not been officially announced by the filmmakers yet.

' The Devil Wears Prada The story was adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 book, which details a young woman’s harrowing time working at a fashion publication (Weisberger previously served as a personal aide to American Vogue editor Anna Wintour).

Meryl Streep portrayed Miranda Priestly, the formidable editor-in-chief at the helm of the fictitious fashion magazine Runway.

Anne Hathaway portrayed the character of Andrea Sachs, an inexperienced recent journalism school graduate who lands the position that "a million girls would jump at" as Priestley's aide.

In the movie, Blunt portrayed Priestley's stressed initial assistant. Tucci assumes the role of Nigel, an experienced fashion editor at Runway, who guides Andy and familiarizes her with Runway's extensive wardrobe collection.

Stanley Tucci, who appeared in the original ' The Devil Wears Prada ' recently shared his joy over the potential for a movie sequel. During an interview with Variety, he mentioned this excitement.

I'm aware they’re tackling this project. Should it come to fruition, I’d be overjoyed, yet I can’t provide you with any details. Else, I might end up in an actor’s jail or something like that. The initial experience was absolutely fantastic.

According to Variety, the upcoming installment supposedly centers around Priestly as she tackles her professional challenges during the downturn of conventional magazine publishing. She also finds herself confronting Blunt’s character, who is now a top-tier executive at a luxury conglomerate, possessing the ad funds that Priestly urgently requires.

The release date for the sequel was announced alongside Disney’s updated calendar, which also revealed postponements for both 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.

According to Variety, 'Doomsday' has been rescheduled for release on December 18, 2026, pushing it back roughly seven months from its initial planned date of May 1, 2026.

To stay aligned with the schedule, 'Avengers: Secret Wars' has shifted its release date to December 17, 2027, from its previous announcement of May 7, 2027, as reported by Variety. (ANI)
