"Waiting for My Call": Sarah Michelle Gellar Aims to Return as Her Scream 2 Character in Next Installment

Washington D.C., [USA], May 23 (ANI): Sarah Michelle Gellar hopes to reprise her Scream 2 a role in the forthcoming installment even though her character died in the previous chapter, as reported by Deadline.
Following the demise of reviving her character Helen Shivers from 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has shown interest in joining the 'Scream' series again for the forthcoming seventh film directed by Kevin Williamson.
"I'm not in [ Scream 7 I attempted to enter [ Scream 7 ]" she shared with Entertainment Tonight, according toDeadline.
"They were recalling everyone. I constantly thought I would receive a call, but I never did," Gellar said according toDeadline.
She supports her case for returning by citing the resurrections of various characters in the film.
Gellar mentioned, according toDeadline, 'There have been numerous deaths across all theScreammovies, yet many characters are returning. People like Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillardare comingback. So,I’mjustwaitingformycall,' she joked.
Actors David Arquette and Scott Foley are returning to their roles for the forthcoming movie. Scream 7 .
In the 1997 slasher film sequel Scream 2 Gellar portrayed Omega Beta Zeta's sober member Cici, who faces harassment over the phone and is later pushed from the balcony of her sorority house by Ghostface.
It was an incredible year for Gellar as she portrayed another ill-fated character, Helen Shivers, who is the Croaker Queen, in "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
FollowingDeadline’s report about an IKWYDLS sequel being developed in 2023, Gellar dispelled fans' expectations of her possible comeback.
Kevin Williamson, the writer of the original "Scream," will helm this upcoming installment. Paramount Pictures has announced a release date for February 27, 2026. (ANI)
