Niam's Latest Exhibition Sets Viewers Free

Visitors to the art exhibition are encouraged to climb the stairs of perception as they seek imagery from their personal inner worlds in "Dancing In The Light," currently on display at Joyman Gallery up till June 22.

This marks the 10th individual showcase for Niam Mawornkanong, a renowned artist whose paintings first engage spectators completely before allowing their minds to wander into deeper introspection.

In this exhibition, the artist fearlessly utilizes various painting methods to inspire multiple interpretations, showcasing their dynamic interaction with advancing understanding in a time when imagery shifts quickly and data inundates us.

He delves into using basic colors and glowing layers, portraying a polar bear in striking lighting conditions. With a delicate touch, he employs digital primary hues — red, green, and blue — to create visuals that are gentle, evasive, and hazy, ensuring that no unnecessary elements disrupt the layout.

This simplicity showcases his bravery in discarding the superfluous, keeping just the core message he wants to communicate.

In this exhibit, you'll also find "White Dust," a distinctive collection born from the artist’s growing skepticism towards the flawless, hyper-realistic quality of digital screens. To them, such pristine perfection seemed hollow. Instead, they yearned for memories of times gone by—filled with vivid dreams and happiness.

The allure of his artwork serves as the initial doorway to awakening awareness. The polar bear and other creatures symbolize an underlying reality — that the void within us is immense, and we perpetually search for fulfillment. In this way, nature, dreams, and creativity transform into limitless domains of restoration.
