Global Buyers: Join the 41st International Handmade Carpet Expo!
To increase the substantial exports of handcrafted carpets, official invites have been sent out to global purchasers of Pakistan’s handmade rugs for their involvement in the 41st International Expo planned for this coming October.
The chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, along with Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed, announced this development. According to their statement, local producers and exporters have shown great enthusiasm for the forthcoming international event, as evidenced by the reservation of 45 booths ahead of schedule. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is actively collaborating to guarantee the smooth running of the fair, making sure every decision aligns with TDAP’s guidance. At the fourth Zonal Committee gathering hosted at the PCMEA headquarters, Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman addressed participants alongside Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Chairperson of the Carpet Training Institute Ejaz-ur-Rehman, Major (Retired) Akhtar Nazir, Saeed Khan, Qamar Zia, Khawaja Mir Mudasar, and several influential figures. In his presentation during the session, Exhibition Chairman and Vice Chairman Riaz Ahmed provided an update on current advancements and outlined plans for involvement in the future Shenzen expo.
Atiq-ur-Rehman and Riaz Ahmed mentioned that besides issuing official invites, international buyers are being personally reached out through phone calls to confirm their attendance. All overseas visitors arriving in Pakistan will receive an extensive hospitality plan. They highlighted the critical importance of this global exposition for the nation’s handcrafted rug market and conveyed significant confidence that substantial export agreements would be sealed during the gathering, which could invigorate the segment. The discussion also raised deep worries about two new Statutory Regulatory Orders—SRO numbers 55(1) and 69(1)—introduced by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). It was agreed they would approach both APTMA and FPCCI to collectively and effectively protest these rules.
